Let's face it, it is easier to open a file of say Tidmouth Sheds in CGI then trying to reconstruct the set every time they need it. The main reason for the move to CGI is to provide more variety to the show.Īnd to cut costs in props and sets and time to construct item. (If you can call Sodor part of the UK that is) Just as a side note, the way I see the 'Magic Railroad', it's really a portal shortcut from the USA to the UK. Well I know the answer is yes, but maybe at the time it was a risky operation. Would American kids be interested about a show about British steam engines? I don't know how true what I say next will be, but I think at the time Britt Allcroft created Shining Time Station in order to help appeal the series to the US.
